Halloween Volunteer Challenge: Share Your (Good) Volunteer Mischief

Volunteer New York!

Trick-or-treating might look different this year due to COVID-19, but that doesn't mean we can't don our Halloween masks (our cloth ones, that is) and make our mark on our neighborhoods!

Rather than cause mischief this year, we're challenging you to do good deeds this Halloween season. Some ideas include donating to a local food pantry, signing up to tutor younger students with their homework, or writing letters to deployed soldiers overseas. You can even create decorations or carve pumpkins to help your neighbors get festive (while still maintaining physical distancing). Bonus points if you wear your costumes while volunteering!

Merry-makers who share their photos, videos, and stories of themselves while volunteering this All Hallows' Eve will get a chance to be featured in a future story on our social media, website, or newsletter. And don't worry: if you don't end up completing your activity in costume (or by Halloween), you can still share your story! The deadline for stories is November 15.

Happy haunting—er, volunteering!
