In operation since 1965, our mission is to improve the lives of low income residents of Yonkers and mobilize to revitalize the community. YCAP accomplishes this through programs that empower and enable individuals and families to become more self-sufficient.
Community Center of Northern Westchester
The Community Center seeks to improve the dignity of all in need in Northern Westchester. In addition to providing food and clothing for thousands of households across more than 30 communities in Northern Westchester, we offer a range of classes and special programs, and work directly with our clients to assist them in gaining access to other resources, including health care, education, and social services. Our services are offered free of charge to all who need help -- new arrivals, as well as residents who have deep roots in the community.
Meals on Wheels-Bronxville
Meals On Wheels serves the 10708 zip code community, putting together an invaluable service, assisting elderly and disabled individuals who are home-bound and are in needs of nutritious meals delivered to their residence.
ARC of Westchester
Our mission is to empower children, teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including individuals on the autism spectrum, to achieve their potential by strengthening families and encouraging personal choices, abilities and interests. Our vision is a world in which children, teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities including individuals on the autism spectrum enjoy fulfilled lives and an inspired future.
Friends of Karen
Friends of Karen provides vital, practical and comprehensive support, at no cost, to NY Metro area families caring for a child with cancer or another life-threatening illness, consistently achieving Charity Navigator's highest 4-star rating. Driven by compassion for families facing the most difficult experience imaginable, our expert social workers, committed staff and dedicated volunteers provide the kinds of broad ongoing resources that no other organization offers. Our services are tailored to the specific needs of each family -- and each family member -- to help free them of everyday needs and concerns so they have more time for what's most important: each other.
