In late October, TikTok user @daniellev98 uploaded a video of herself frantically finishing an essay that was due the next day—to the tune of Mario Kart music.
"My stress levels went [up] but so did my word count," she wrote in the caption.
And it appears to be working. Students everywhere are using the music—which is activated when your Mario Kart character acquires the invincibility star—to inspire them to complete their assignments faster. It's the super fast pace of the music that really does it.
Twitter user @AniyaArnold4 agrees, adding, "Guys listening to mario kart music while ur working IS SO EFFECTIVE i’ve been doing work for two hours straight & it felt like 30 mins this is magic."
