Volunteer New York!

Volunteer New York! is once again preparing for its annual celebration of outstanding volunteers—and if you're a youth leader, now's your time to shine!

Aptly dubbed the Volunteer Spirit Awards, the event recognizes six individuals (or groups) who exemplify the spirit of service and make a positive impact in their communities. We spotlight these do-gooders in April, just in time for National Volunteer Month. In 2020, we held this event virtually (watch it here or below).

We're calling on all nonprofits to nominate their top-notch volunteers in the following areas:

  • Education and Literacy
  • Going Green
  • Quality of Life
  • Social Advocacy
  • Transformation
  • Youth Leadership

In 2020, Abe Baker-Butler won the Youth Leadership Award for co-founding and directing the nonprofit agency, Students Against Nicotine (among many other noteworthy projects). Could you be this year's Youth Leader?

If you feel like you've made a positive impact in any of these categories through your stellar community service, ask your volunteer supervisor to nominate you today! The 41st Annual Volunteer Spirit Awards take place on Friday, April 9, 2021; the nomination deadline is Monday, November 16, 2020. Good luck!
